According to Canadian rules, individuals and organizations are required to register in the Controlled Goods Program to examine, possess or transfer controlled goods in Canada. Controlled Good Program is a Federal Government initiative overseen by the Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). It is a domestic security program which helps to control and manage Canada’s defence trade through security screening allowing to prevent unauthorized controlled goods/technologies reselling and transferring. The program is legislated by the Defence Production Act and the Controlled Goods Regulations.
