Armoured SWAT Van
Based on GMC Savana
Roshel has designed and manufactured an armoured van based on GMC Savana for SWAT and law enforcement teams. In order to stay community-friendly and not to attract unwanted attention, the vehicle is low-profile and retains regular commercial van appearance while providing a high level of protection for officers.
Roshel’s armoured GMC Savana features full perimeter armouring in accordance with the level CEN 1063 B6 protecting from high powered rifles, including multiple impacts from 7.62 and 5.56 NATO ammunition, as well as, 7.62x39mm AK47 rounds. The floor of the vehicle is fitted with steel blast protection to defeat from the simultaneous detonation of 2 DM-51 German ordnance hand grenades.
The vehicle features certified transparent armour offering the same level of protection as the ballistic steel in accordance with CEN 1063 B6 protection level. Bullet resistant glass has a spall protection layer and is free of optical distortion and discolouration from UV rays. The van is equipped with the upgraded braking system and reinforced suspension to efficiently carry additional weight. Roshel ballistic materials and critical components have been tested and certified by leading European and North American testing laboratories.
Ready to serve in various environments, the vehicle is equipped with the rear air conditioner ensuring that officers stay mission-ready regardless of external weather conditions. For advanced situational awareness, the van features a rear-view camera with two monitors, one for the driver, and the other one for officers at the rear compartment. Vehicle’s tires are equipped with run-flat devices designed to resist the effects of deflation when the tire is punctured, and to enable the vehicle to continue to be driven at least 80 km/h to safely escape from the threat. The vehicle transports 12 officers: 10 people at the back, 1 driver and 1 co-driver.
As a provider of comprehensive secured transportation solutions, Roshel realizes the risk associated with police duties and ensures that its vehicles provide the required level of protection and comfort to the officers. Roshel manufactures all of its vehicles in-house at its modern full-cycle production facility located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
